FAMILY SESSION AUCTION FOR SYRIA • Washington DC Family photographer

Syria holds a special place in my heart and in our family.
I've been watching and following the news about Syria since my daughter was born in February 2011. It began precisely at that time, more than 4 years ago. Before that, I had the chance to visit the country, it was in 2002. Then I met my didn't-know-by-that-time future husband while he was doing research and living in Damascus. He stayed there for 4 years but we never got a chance to visit the country together…
My brother who lives in Berlin, Germany spent some time this summer in Bulgaria and Greece. He told me the stories about the refugees he met on boats and on the road. Always smiling, always with hope for a better life in Europe but with the deep desire of going back home, of course.  I hope I will be able to share some of his pictures soon.

For all these reasons, it is very painful and heartbreaking to see thousands of Syrians fleeing their beloved country in hopes for a better life for their children and themselves. I couldn't stand being there doing nothing. I am glad a bunch of family photographers started this auction and I am honored to join.

So treat yourself with a family photo session and do something good for those refugees. Help me spread the word. Read below.

SESSION AUCTION FOR SYRIA : Bid on my Facebook page here : The crisis of Syrian refugees leaves no one indifferent. There are thousands who risk their lives in inhuman conditions, not for a better life, but for the hope of their survival!

As much there is to do seems little, and for the sake of children (the main victims in any situation of conflict or crisis) a group of 30 (AND NOW MORE) children and family photographers, decided to unite in a symbolic action of raising funds and are asking photographers from all round the world to join in.

As child photographers we deal with happy families and children in a daily basis, so it makes perfect sense that we can use our time and effort to help, little that is, those children who are going through impossible conditions. Therefore, each of us will auction a photo shoot, where 100% of the bid value will be donated directly to UNICEF.

It is a coordinated event! It will start TODAY and end 6pm 18th September. The winning bid receives :
- a 1-2 hour Family session (maternity, Newborn included).
- delivery of the at least 30 images in high resolution.
- validity of the voucher: 6 months from the date of the donation
- the starting bid is : $150

Please note that the session must take place in Washington DC area. The winning bid must send a receipt of your payment to UNICEF of the winning amount to me at bonjour@juliettefradin.com once the bidding has stopped. To bid simply post below.

Please share this post if you are in the Washington DC area as it would be wonderful to raise as much attention as possible and I'm crossing all fingers and toes that someone bids xoxoxo
