To new adventures • family photographer Takoma park

Returning clients are the best compliment I can get. I mean it, there are so many photographers out there that I feel very fortunate to meet again with "my" families. We started this session looking at a deer in the neighbor's front yard across the street. The little man was making dog sounds which was hilarious. We kept going with their daily routine of dressing him up, going to the nearby park. Nothing forced, just the ordinary. But in the eyes of a 13 months little boy, every thing is a great adventure.

So here is to new adventures this year! Enjoy the moments, be in the present.

Happy 2017 to all from my family to yours.

Paula, Daniel, Bernardo & Vinicius • Princeton family photographer

You will probably recognize the sweet faces of this lovely family I had the chance to photograph several times already. They are from Brazil and I love to see them growing as a family. We always ended up shooting in their house because they bought it recently and wanted to capture that (and also maybe because it felt less intimidating than going outside). But this time was different: we stayed just enough time playing around the house and documenting the first steps of Vinicius before heading to to the nearby park they go to as often as they can.
It felt natural. Like an afternoon you spend with friends, catching up and chatting about being a family of 4 and raising bilingual kids. At the end, Bernardo felt asleep on mommy like he always do. I am glad we froze these moments to remember for ever.

Pop-up Sessions • Maryland and New Jersey family photographer

Mid-April I had the pleasure to meet 9 kids and take their photos. It was the first time I organized mini sessions and I loved it. It was fun to see the different personalities and capture the sweet bond between siblings (and sometimes not so sweet but I got only good stuff that day!).

Here is what Jen H. says about the experience: "Working with Juliette was such a treat! Her effortless manner makes you feel like you are hanging out with a friend--who just happens to be taking the most spectacular photos of your children. We did a session with our two girls and the resulting images captured the essence of their *very* different personalities just perfectly. Juliette also took gorgeous photos that speak to the absolute love between two sisters, something that is just magic to see. In this world of fleeting images and constant motion, pictures taken by Juliette are a treasure. She stops time for just a bit, and that is priceless."

2015 in review - part 3 • Maryland family photographer

In-home family session • Bethesda storytelling photography

This session is exactly the kind of documentary-style shoot that I love to do: Sarah invited me to spend a lovely morning with her family to capture these early years of childhood. Since her first daughter was born she managed to have family pictures taken once a year and indeed there were some beautiful frames everywhere in the house.

She expressively hired me to document: "those stolen moments - smiles, laughs, cuddles between sisters. I want to remember their expressions and their precious little bodies. I want to capture the free spirit of a 3 year old and the deliciousness of a 5 month old". You can imagine this made my heart sing right away!!!! This is the exact things I try to create for my clients. She couldn't have said it any better.

Love to you all Sarah,
XOXO

I would love to take some beautiful photos of your family in your natural habitat! Let's make it happen. And I promise you will love to see your spouse having fun with the kids in pictures. And you will love having memories of you and your kids too. Don't hide behind the camera moms. You are largely part of the story and deserve to be in front of the lens.

Chemistry • Maryland Maternity photographer

Lately, all my close friends got pregnant. Which was awesome because it meant multiple maternity sessions (and newborn sessions!!). I did this shoot for Christine at her home and got totally inspired by that red chair she just got a few weeks before. We brainstormed some ideas; she wanted something intimate with just her and the baby-to-be. But when her son came back from his walk with daddy we snapped a few pictures for the 5 minutes he cooperated. And they turned out really good, I love them all. You can tell that he already loved his little sister really much.

When you have an older kid and get pregnant again, you never know how the chemistry between the 2  will be. It was really sweet to catch loving moments between the big-brother and baby-to-be. I am glad she has those memories forever.
