NO AWKWARD SMILES. NO PERFECT BEHAVIOR. NO STIFF POSES.

Because, come on, how does that reflect real life? Real life is bed head and a stuffy being dragged by the leg. It’s holding tight to that second mug of coffee and holding tighter to that little hand as she leads you outside to play. It’s your family, honestly.

But let me tell you what happens when you hold these images in your hands. You see everything you love.

You recognize that one hat they insisted on wearing every day for months. Or the artwork on the walls that has since changed. You recognize the way your baby scrunched his nose when he was first learning to smile.

Real life is beautiful and messy and weird and wonderful. And it is yours, flaws and all.

Your images preserve all this for your tomorrow and for theirs.

Documentary photography means you don’t have to perform for me,

and there’s nothing more beautiful than that.

“BUT WHAT IF WE’RE TOO BORING?”

First of all, you’re not. I hear this fear from so many families, and I get it. You’re in the middle of parenting, so it can be hard to see it from anyone else’s perspective.

But trust me when I say that slow morning or that chaotic afternoon or that ramble down the street to the park is more than enough.

Your family is more than enough.

The beauty of documentary style photography is that it reflects everything you love through the lens of my camera and shows you things you maybe didn’t even notice, like the way you ruffled your big kid’s hair or the supportive way your partner touched your elbow.

It might not be perfectly posed, but that’s not what you’re after anyway.

TAKE IT FROM THEM

 EVERYDAY ART

I love the chance to play with creativity when we’re together. Double exposures, prisms, freelensing—I’ll explore artistic ways to document your family to create a little magic during our photo session.

what to expect

Get on my calendar

If you think we’ll make a good fit, fill out my inquiry form. Once you’re on my calendar, I’ll share a questionnaire along with my simple tips for preparing for your session. But really, there is no prepping!

You don’t have to hunt down coordinated outfits or pack up the whole gang for a car ride. Your life is busy enough, right?
Your photo session shouldn’t add complications.
I make the whole process simple.

Your custom session

During your session, go about your day as you normally would. That means no rushing to a photo location, no shushing rambunctious kids or bribing the shy ones.

You don’t even have to be together the whole time (aka go make another cup of tea or take a minute to read emails). I may ask you to open the curtains or turn off lights, but I never push you to do anything different.
This isn’t about me, it’s about documenting your family as you are.

Picking your images

Three weeks after your session, you’ll get access to a slideshow with all your images, fully hand-edited by me. From there, you’ll have plenty of time to choose your favorite and how you want to keep them, from digital to tangible.
I have sourced my products with an emphasis on style and sustainability, so you can trust you’re getting heirloom-quality products.

IMPRINT YOUR MEMORIES

Digital is great for some things, but you don’t pass down a flash drive.
Printed images are made to hold and touch and hang on your walls alongside
your other art. They’re made to be loved by you now and by your kids tomorrow.

Your images are proof that sometimes “ordinary”
is exactly what you love (and will miss) the most.

I carefully choose each of the products I offer to be eco-friendly and beautiful. You might choose a linen album with all your photos (happily designed by me) or a print mounted on a sustainable bamboo panel to decorate your shelves. You’ll have the freedom to choose the best images and products for your family.

  the DETAILs

They matter when we’re documenting your family, and they matter when it comes to making this investment. Here’s how my pricing works:

  • $350 non-refundable deposit at the time of booking secures your spot on my calendar. It’s important to me to be able to give my time and attention to each family, so I never overbook.

  • After you book, I share my print + digital collections for you to choose the best fit for your family. My collections start at $800.

  • All of my collections include a complimentary print credit to transform those pixels into tangible products or gifts.

 frequently asked questions

HOW DOES YOUR PRICING WORK?

The session fee and a signed contract are due to lock your date. It includes the pre-session prep, the photoshoot, and my time to answer all the questions you might have before the shoot. Once you have viewed the slideshow (and cried a little), you purchase one of the 3 collections. You’ll have a month to download your digitals and use the complimentary gift card to order prints and products. Choose the things you love best! I thoughtfully curated eco-friendly products (they make great gifts!).

I LOVE YOUR STYLE BUT I NEED A MORE FORMAL PORTRAIT, WOULD YOU DO THAT?

If it's important to you, yes! I follow a documentary approach for my sessions, and there is no script or prompt but we can allow a limited amount of time to get some shots of the family together. Don't worry, they won't be the traditional family portraits. We'll keep it short and sweet and play a game or 2 to ensure we are capturing your uniqueness.

WILL YOU PUBLISH MY IMAGES ONLINE? WE ARE A PRIVATE FAMILY.

I don't want you to hold anything during our time together because you are worried about the images’ usage. This session is about you and your family.

I would say that 90% of my clients are totally fine with my standard policy and allow me to share images. My business is a visual one and It is thanks to clients who allowed me to show their images that I can share my work and attract new clients. I use photos for marketing and promotional purposes related to my photography business, or to enter contests or magazine publications.

That being said, every family is different and I offer 3 levels of privacy ranging from standard to totally private. If privacy is especially important to your family and you decide to decline altogether, a fee of $250 will apply and will be billed separately.

(THANKS TO THE KIDS) MY HOUSE IS A MESS, TOO DARK, TOO PLAIN, NOT PINTEREST-Y…

In an ideal world, we would have a housecleaner every week, tidy kids, big windows, flourishing plants, clean kitchen countertops and we would be living that minimalist life we crave at night. But life happens and as much as we would like to escape the consumerism society, we are surrounded by stuff and artifacts. See it as your memorabilia, traces of your family's story. This is where you live, where your kids love to play and the phase you are in right now. That mug you drink your coffee from or that plastic toy left behind might bring memories to your kids 20 years from now. You never know.

No need to clean from floor to ceiling. When most toys are picked up, a little vacuuming in the main areas should be enough.

I LIKE THE IDEA OF AN IN-HOME SESSION, BUT WILL I GET ANY IMAGES I CAN FRAME FOR THE WALLS?

You certainly will! Unposed images are my favorites to display at home. They remind me of our travels, the places we visited and bring back all the feelings. Kids love to share their stories and see themselves in pictures. It's another subtle way to say "I love you". Choose a picture that makes you feel something, a happy moment that will bring you joy every time you look at it.

Moreover, I have few but stunning products that will enhance your photos.

WHAT IF IT RAINS, SNOWS, SOMEONE IS SICK, I NEED TO RESCHEDULE?

Each client gets 1 reschedule date so let me know as soon as possible.

If the weather does not cooperate we will reschedule. But we can totally embrace the moment and shoot in the rain/ snow. It makes beautiful photos as well and something totally unique. Think of a snowball fight or jumping into puddles followed by a hot chocolate by the fire. Anyway, we will decide what is best for you and your family.

I AM NOT READY TO BOOK BUT I WOULD LIKE TO STAY IN TOUCH WITH YOU.

And I would love that! The best way to stay in touch is by subscribing to my newsletter. This is my favorite way to interact with people and you will be first to get special offers, tips and news from me.

I hang out mostly on Instagram, and then Facebook so give me some love there.

DO YOU HAVE PROMOTIONS, SPECIAL RATES?

I take great pride in being a woman-operated small business owner. This is not something I do on the side: I pay taxes, I have a lawyer, a bookkeeper, an accountant… The photographs I take are the results of countless nights perusing photo forums, travels to conferences, workshops to stay informed and up to date, latest gear that could help me better… I have a family to support and price myself accordingly. I am here for the long run and want to serve you for many years to come.

I try to give back as much as possible by helping at my kids’ schools or my local newspaper. But I totally understand photos are an investment and you should pick your photographer carefully. That being said, if you are a single parent, you’ll get a 15% discount on your grand total.

I offer mini-sessions mostly for returning clients and I have incentives if you refer me to your friends (both for you and your friend). I do not offer big discounts for Black Friday. Sign up to my newsletter for the latest news and announcements.
